Coordinate the introduction and implementation of new technologies and equipment to the manufacturing operation. Drives equipment transfer activities, equipment installation and factory and site acceptance testing activities.Provides technical leadership, guidance, coaching and training to less experienced controls engineering employees.Requires managing major or moderately complex automation projects, involving delegation of work, review of work products, and acting as a team leader as appropriate.Experience working with external Automation and Tooling vendors providing them User Requirements, Statement of Work, and managing them through completion.Travel up to 75% domestic and international.Must Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelors degree requiredMinimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experienceNice to HaveApplications development using an object-oriented language (i.e. C#, VB.Net, Python)SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, Java, and database design highly desirable.PLC programming experience (Rockwell). Experience building new control systems.Basic understanding of electrical network. Able to review and understand electrical schematics and control diagrams.Experience integrating industrial automation systems to MES systems for data collection and control.Vision system design and integration for inspecting, locating, and positioning (Cognex, Vision Pro).Experience with Robots (SCARA, Cartesian, Gantry) and Pick-and-Place systemsHMI developmentExperience with servo controllers and motion applications.Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting on areas such as station alignment, leveling, timing diagrams, pneumatic systemsExperience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or electronic industryExperience on process development and/or process improvementKnowledge on 6-Sigma principles and methodologyExperience in a regulated environment with 21CFR Part 11Network design and debug3D modelling experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Pro E)Proven communication, project management and analytical skills required.Self-motivated, goal-oriented, team playerAbout MedtronicTogether, we can change healthcare worldwide.
