Position Description Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots andprovides technical skills during research and/or product development. Under the direction of the Engineer SectionHead, provides technical direction to department engineers. Plans and coordinateslarger-scale engineering projects or several medium or small projects whileacting as a technical specialist for a specific section. Maintains a thoroughknowledge of new developments and technology. Monitors projects and recommendschanges to improve operating efficiency. Position usually requires five toeight years of experience, an engineering degree and comprehensive knowledge ina specialized engineering field. Position Responsibilities Providestechnical support to production personnel and manufacturing lines. Identifies need and develops manufacturing documentationfollowing, standards and regulations established by regulatory agencies. Identifies need and develops tooling and equipment toease device manufacturability. Ensures the Bill of Material accuracy by checking itagainst Engineering drawings and systems applications Analyzes and determines conformance of materials andassemblies. Leadsand / or participates in development, qualification and validation activitiesfor product or technology transfers. Trains production personnel, and otherengineers/technicians. Ensures compliance with company policies, programs,procedures, regarding to government and regulatory agencies regulations (e.g.EEO, ADA, ISO,QSR). Ensures timely response to audit findings. Works with the Manufacturing and Engineering teams toapply principles, concepts and tools for lean Manufacturing, Pull Systems, andCellular Layout. Monitors and enforces all internal Policies andProcedures, as well as Regulatory Agencies Policies and Procedures. Works and implements special projects as assigned byDirect Supervisor. Schedules and coordinates major segments of complexprojects to meet cost and time objectives. Conducts feasibility studies, determines manpower and costestimates, and develops engineering criteria. Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots and providestechnical skills during research and/or product development. Performs other position related duties as assigned. Quality Responsibilities Reportsany observed or informed process and/or product non-conformities to theSupervisor. Findsresolution of Quality Situations at the area of responsibility. Reportsany complaint regarding a Medtronic product to the Supervisor. Complies with all the requirements in the operationalprocedures at the area of responsibility in order to meet the requirements ofall applicable Quality System regulations (e.g.: FDA Part 820 Quality SystemRegulation, ISO 13485 Quality Standard, R-PAL (Japanese QSR's). EHS Responsibilities Acknowledgeand maintain commitment with the EHS Policy. Participatein the development of EHS improvement projects. Participateactively in the EHS programs to achieve the objectives and targets defined forthe area. Engineers in Projects: Ensurethat the EHS considerations, legal and corporate requirements and efficiencyindicators are included in new project design and project evaluation in orderto maximize the cost/benefit ratio and minimize the EHS impacts and risks. Ensurethat EHS performance indicators are included in the selection process ofcontractors. Evaluateand re-evaluate periodically the EHS performance of contractors andsub-contractors. Supervisethat contractors perform their job in accordance to the EHS requirements inorder to reduce, minimize or prevent EHS impacts and risks. Maintaincurrent knowledge of the potential EHS aspects and risks of new projects. Minimum Education Bachelor Degree Basic Qualifications Background Educational:Engineering or Science of Engineering or related field.
