STAFF PHARMACIST - FULL TIME UPR HOSPITAL DR. FEDERICO TRILLA CAROLINA, PUERTO RICO Hours: This position works full time 40 hours per week, various 8 hour shifts between the hours of 7:30am and 5pm, and includes working every second weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. As a full time, non exempt, staff pharmacist with Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) at UPR Hospital Dr. Federico Trilla, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy. Required Qualifications: Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) Current Puerto Rico pharmacist license in good standing Recent work experience as a pharmacist, in a hospital setting is preferred Must speak fluent Spanish Must reside in Puerto Rico Must be able to start working on a Monday (start dates are twice per month) Must provide a Good Standing Certificate from the Puerto Rico Board of Pharmacy, Good Conduct Certificate from the Puerto Rico Police Department, copy of Certification and License. Facility: The UPR Hospital Dr. Federico Trilla, is a Joint Commission accredited facility that is licensed for 250 beds, consisting of 93 beds for Internal Medicine and Family Medicine, 50 beds for Pediatrics, 45 beds for Surgical Services, 20 beds for Psychiatry and 42 beds for Obstetrics & Gynecology. The average daily inpatient census runs between 125-150. More than 10,000 patients are admitted per year to the Hospital's different services. The pharmacy is currently open from 6am-9pm Monday - Friday and 7am-4pm Saturday & Sunday. The pharmacy provides services to the following departments: Opthalmology, Orthopedics, Surgery, Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Emergency Room, ICU, Nursery & NICU. HMS is the currently the pharmacy order entry system along with CPOE. Upcoming pharmacy projects include an Omnicell implementation. This hospital is a teaching site for 3 UPR medical residents and is the primary practice site for UPR pharmacy students. The management of the pharmacy is outsourced to CPS.
