Tech, Extrusion

Applies skill in the set-up, operation and maintenance support of extruding equipment/machinery and tools that are used in the production process, in keeping with regulatory and company guidelines. Key Responsibilities: • Operate assigned extruding equipment to produce single-lumen tubing, including tooling change-overs • Perform inspections, sampling, and measurements • Maintain water treatment channels to ensure water used in the extrusion meets lab control standards • Execute equipment inspections in accordance with EHS guidelines • Troubleshoot and perform minor equipment repairs • On time arrival to work, regular attendance without excessive absenteeism, and working a full 8 hour or longer work period • Other incidental duties (e.g. occasional photo copying or deliveries) Education and Experience: H.S. Diploma or equivalent Required Associate's Degree or equivalent 2 years experience experience in extrusion and/or molding process Preferred Additional Skills: • Good computer skills • Able to read and comprehend English sufficiently to understand work procedures and complete work documents • Ability to operate extruding equipment for tooling changes, make production parameter adjustments, and read and follow drawings • Moderate knowledge in extrusion and/or molding process • Capable of producing tubing with 1 lumen • Ability to perform troubleshooting and minor equipment repairs • Adhere to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to the manufacturing floor operations and clean room medical device manufacturing • Must be able to work in a team environment • Adhere to all EHS rules and requirements and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control • Ensure proper handling, storage and disposal of all waste generated in the facility according to applicable laws within the waste management program (RCRA).
