Position Summary: The maintenance planner supervisor will provide strategic and tactic guidance to maintenance planners during the planning and scheduling cycle. He will also prepare, coordinate, and schedule service requests and work orders to be executed in the manufacturing and all others supporting operational areas. The maintenance planner supervisor will provide guidance and ensure proper execution during the coordination of maintenance activities (work orders and preventive maintenance) within the established manufacturing windows to minimize the manufacturing stoppages. The maintenance planner supervisor will also monitor maintenance execution performance versus established/defined execution plan and timeframe to obtain a more predictive and consistent maintenance service to manufacturing operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead, support, and provide strategic and tactic guidance to maintenance planners and other staff members. Perform planning and scheduling activities himself. Prioritize, plan, schedule and follow-up submitted service requests and work orders as assigned through the CMMS. Perform job assessment workaround's. Generate and maintain metrics and KPIs for the planning and scheduling function. Lead the planning and scheduling of shutdown, production windows, and turnarounds. Work closely with plant operations and maintenance supervisors to perform maintenance work during production windows. Anticipate and discuss the permits and other safety requirements necessary to execute the job in a safe manner. Principle contact and liaison between the engineering department (maintenance, instrumentation and spare parts) and the operations during the coordination of maintenance work orders. Ensure service contractors are available for the work execution. Provide contracted personnel with the job and safety requirements. Develop job plans for repeated planned works in order to cutting the time required to process similar work. Utilize computer software such as Maximo, MS Office, and other to maintain and communicate planning and scheduling information and parts ordering. Assemble the job files that contain the documentation required to complete the job without delays. Recommend spare parts inventory additions or changes. Request and take action on provided feedback from the stakeholders as part of the planning process. Participate and during the weekly planning and scheduling meetings with the operational areas, maintenance supervisor and required support. Manage the purchasing requisitions/orders required for planning purposes. Ensure proper invoicing when the job is completed. Prepare necessary documentation to update Maximo CMMS, Spare parts, and others as part of the planned jobs. Work with other maintenance planner(s), supervisors, and leaders to ensure proper work orders management and executions. Qualification: Mechanical/instrumentation background is necessary. Chemical plant operations knowledge. Computer literate in MS Office and Maximo is desirable. Good organizational skills. Demonstrated organizational and planning skills. Good communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish and English). Communicate effectively with operations, technical service and maintenance personal orally, written and electronically. Be able to work with manufacturer manuals, written specifications, P&ID drawings, oral instructions and personal knowledge of the work being performed to plan and schedule effectively. Be able to analyze significant difference between estimated and actual work hours, materials and equipment and determine difference that can require standard revisions. Be able to of interacting with various levels of company management, employees, and external contact including with others maintenance planner(s) to distribute the planning and scheduling work load to best meet the needs of operation and maintenance. Education: Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineer or related field. Job Experience: Essential: 5 years experience in maintenance of process plants with knowledge in industrial instrumentation and control systems.
